Date Night suggestions that don't cost money.

We are broker than broke and don't usually get time away from the kids. I want to start doing a date night with my husband once a week but I'm at a loss for what we could do that doesn't cost money. Occasionally we can get my inlaws to watch our kids so it could be something with or without kids.

  • Put the kiddos to bed and have a candlelight picnic in your living room.

Massages and bubble baths for the two of you.

A nice candlelight dinner after the kids go to bed with some dancing and romancing.

Play a fun flirty "adult" game together. There are lots of places on the web that can tell you how to make your own.

  • Make an adult friendly dinner at home that the kids would have complained about and watch movies on TV or that you have DVD or better yet catch up on some adult type shows on your DVR. We have the entire last season of LOST to catch up on still! It really doesn't matter as much what you do, as it does that you take the time to enjoy each other!

  • Going for a walk through the woods. Finding a good place to watch the sunset. Making a bed on the living room floor, making popcorn and watching a movie. Go swimming together. There are a lot of things! I know how you feel about being broke though...

  • Long walks, pack a picnic and bring it along.

Visit with friends (no kids) - just hang out and talk, listen to music or play cards.

If you have a fire pit, cozy up to it after the kids are in bed and enjoy some wine or roast marshmallows.

    Star gazing is fun too!
