  • OATMEAL! Eat a bowl of oatmeal every morning for breakfast for a couple months and you will notice a big difference if you numbers. Other high fiber foods help too.

  • Oatmeal is not high fiber; they tell you that when in reality it has at the most 3 g fiber per serving.

Eat high fiber cereals like Fiber One original or All Bran original. Salads for lunch are great. Eggs are fine, believe it or not, because their cholesterol is balanced. Cut out a lot of red meat, all if possible, & eat chicken if you have to have meat. Eat more cooked dry beans or lentils to get protein, iron, & fiber all in one. Avoid rice, breads (read the labels for fiber content & you'll see why), & pasta. Use cooking sprays, not oil, to cook with. Eat tons of fresh or steamed vegetables with fiber. Fruits, stick with apples or pears & eat the peels; that's where the fiber is. Snack on low fat cheese (mozzarella), celery with low fat cream cheese spread, a handful of nuts or sunflower seeds, sugar free jello, low fat cottage cheese.

I did this for 3 months to lose weight. My cholesterol dropped 100 pts, no drugs.
