My baby was primaily breastmilk but sampled everything table food except meat, grain, dairy. So blueberries, parsnips pear,, apple, sweet potato, butternut squash, avocado, broccili, beans, peas, carrots, peach, kiwi, apricots, etc etc. Guacamole, hummus, and 3 bean chili. We mealshare; no isolated mealtime. That jar stuff (if that is what you give) is overcooked, bland, textureless, and overpriced. Food berfore was is for fun and experience not nutrition. baby food is neither. My baby self feeds for the most part (no teeth) though i do load up a regular spoon foods that come mushhed like hummus and give it to her or guide it sometimes though usually I just let her have at it. Hands on experience is messy but fun.
Purees are unnecessary and don't encourage tongue manipulation. Babies tend to gag more when purees are spoonfed because the haven't had the chance to explore self limits. If she doesn't eat its okay!
