  • then let her have the bottle, formula or breastmilk are supposed to be the main source of nutrition for the first year

    how old is she?

  • Give it time. She will get interested eventually. We started solids at 7 months and it wasn't until probably about 8 months before she was really interested and now at 11 months, she eats like a champ.

  • give her time. some people dont give their children baby food at all. they wait until they can feed themselves.

  • she is probably teething... the nipple from the bottle feels good between her sore gums

  • Eh, let her be. When she's interested, she'll eat. The bottle should come first anyway for the first year. As long as that's going ok, there's no need to worry. :)

  • My kids never ate alot of baby food. I would just give her the bottle and wait until she wants more food :)

  • My baby was primaily breastmilk but sampled everything table food except meat, grain, dairy. So blueberries, parsnips pear,, apple, sweet potato, butternut squash, avocado, broccili, beans, peas, carrots, peach, kiwi, apricots, etc etc. Guacamole, hummus, and 3 bean chili. We mealshare; no isolated mealtime. That jar stuff (if that is what you give) is overcooked, bland, textureless, and overpriced. Food berfore was is for fun and experience not nutrition. baby food is neither. My baby self feeds for the most part (no teeth) though i do load up a regular spoon foods that come mushhed like hummus and give it to her or guide it sometimes though usually I just let her have at it. Hands on experience is messy but fun.

Purees are unnecessary and don't encourage tongue manipulation. Babies tend to gag more when purees are spoonfed because the haven't had the chance to explore self limits. If she doesn't eat its okay!
