Do your kids have a bed time in the summer?

During the school year, my son goes to bed at eight (he is only six) but now that it doesn't get dark until nine- he goes to bed at nine or later...I miss my quiet time in the evenings LOL

  • It depends on how old. I would give him an extra hour, or tell him he can stay up as long as he stays in his room.

  • I live in Aussie land so our school year is different but I do have the same problem when we switch to daylight savings. So I have this problem every year. I just try to remain consistant and insist bed time is the same regardless. You know what they say consistancy. Oh god how I hate that word.

  • During the school year, my 8 year old goes to bed at 8:30-9. Now that its summer he's allowed up til 10 pm, 11 occasionally. My 6 year old is sent to bed at 8 pm during the school year, and is allowed up til 9-9:30 during the summer. I miss that time alone, too!

  • Yes they do, they go to bed at the same time everynight....unless they are super tired and then they go to bed earlier than nomral

  • Officially, but it's only enforced when he's obviously tired and cranky (which is rare). It's more of a warning than a rule.

  • My munchkins are still pretty young so their bedtime never changes. I'll probably let them stay up an extra hour in the summer once they start school.

  • DD is 16 months so yes, she still has a bedtime in the summer. She still goes to bed between 7:15-7:45 each night.
