  • Depends on your body.. You do not necessarily have to wait the full 6 weeks after having a baby.. But you are very fertile after giving birth.. So just be careful and use protection.

  • Doctor's recommend 6-8 weeks.
The question really should be 'how long till you WANT to have sex again.'

  • ost Doctor's now recommend wait untill you are healed(if you tore), and untill you stop bleeding. I go to a practice with 6 different Doctor's and they have all said the same thing. Just make sure your comfortable, your stitches have healed, your not bleeding, and you use PLENTY of lube!!!lol. And take it slow, if it starts to hurt, stop. And make sure to wear protection!

  • Doctors recommend 6-8 weeks, with my most recent pregnancy, we waited about 4 days. I can tell you the first time we tried it was a complete failure, I was still so emotional, a few days later tried again and it was all good. Some follow the recommendation time, some judge the way they feel and the desire to even try.

  • they say 6weeks....our child birth instructor said the important thing is to at least make sure you wait until the bleeding completely stops -- for some people thats before 6 weeks, for others its after
