  • If you have a farm book, ask her to look at the pictures and point to what she saw at the farm today.

  • I've seen a 2 year old talk like she's been talking for years. Anything is possible in this world today.

  • Don't let it get to you. Not everyone is the same. Look forward to seeing her and hearing what she has to say about it. My daughter is 18 months and still jibber jabbers, though in a way I manage to understand what she's saying. I would just look forward to seeing how much fun she had there. And the smile on her face when she sees you.

  • My first child was speech delayed. I know how hard it can be. You see all these other kids jabbering away and yours does not. I think the pointing to pictures idea is wonderful. Maybe also sing Old MacDonald and then ask her if she saw "a horse," then give her a sign or signal for yes and no.Hopefully that will help her communicate.

The good news is that my speech delayed child is now a happy, healthy 12 year old. He was so shy and quiet. Now you would not know it was the same child. Even those who are closest to him forget that speaking was ever an issue.

  • maybe you should teach her some sign language - happy, sad, angry, tired, hungry, food signs, and whatever else you want her to be able to communicate, and maybe use one of those baby sign courses as well

  • my daughter three on tuesday
she speaks like she is one year 9 months

just hard to see other kids younger than her tell their moms about stuff

wanting to feel what other moms feel, although knowing that is making me cry
