Should the government pay for nose jobs, breast implants and liposuction?

Specifically addressing those who have no issue with the government paying for abortions - a completely optional, voluntary procedure that is not medically necessary? Should it cover viagra, too? Hair plugs and chemical peels? Where's the line?

  • If they did, I'd be the first in line for a breast reduction!
But, seriously, there's a difference. People (most) don't have abortions to make themselves more attractive. People do have plastic surgey to though.

  • Viagra, maybe.

If meds will fix it, I can see that.

It helps society if people aren't having those type issues, if you know what I mean.

    All the other crap, NO!

  • no tht would be a total waste of government money! if you want a nose job, bigger boobs, or to be skinny! lose the weight or pay yourself!! and the government doesnt cover the whole abortion procedure it coves 250 of the 300. and it is a medical procedure i understand those are too but come on seriously if you dont like abortion dont have one and dont associate with people who do! some people get abortions because they were rapped or are just wayy to young for their body to handle having a baby or because other health risks. the only thing you posted tht would go as being a health risk is liposuction! cos people just get to fat..

  • Are you really comparing abortion to a boob job?

Making an arguement can be hard but seriously...thats the best comparison you could come up with?

    Voluntary
    Not medically necessary
May cause potential mental distress afterwards
May have serious side effects that can lead to disability or death

Which of those do you think applies to one and not the other? Just because the comparison makes you uncomfortable doesn't make it invalid. That's your personal issue to deal with. They are the same thing.

  • It should pay for nose jobs if you can't breathe right or sleep well and breast implants after cancer surgery.
