  • We didn't have toddler beds, we used twins. When the child climbs out of the crib is a good time to move them.

  • I would say at about 2 years or sooner if they are potty trained.

  • 18 months. Her legs kept getting stuck in the rails, which told me to ditch the crib.

  • we moved our son into one when he was 14 months. he actually slept better in it than in his crib. we mainly wanted him out of the crib by the time his sister came so she could have the crib. hes 19 months now and would probably freak in a crib.

  • When it becomes a safety issue, like when your toddler starts trying to climb out. Or when they refuse to sleep in the crib any more. Whichever comes first.

With mine, it was the latter, at 2.5 years. He never once tried to climb out, so I left him sleeping in the crib until he flat-out refused one night.

  • my son was 14 months and it was AMAZING. I mean A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. He absolutely loved his big boy bed. It took about two weeks for bedtime to go real smoothly...but after that it's been such a treasure. Enjoy!
