Are there any other mothers out there as lucky as i am?

My boys are arguing over the left over salad. They are 4 and 5 years old. I haven't even put any dressing on it. But they are LOVING it. It has romaine lettuce, some other leafy green that i'm not so sure it's name, cucumbers, carrots, a few olives, tomatoes, and some boiled egg.

I never thought i'd here two little kids arguing over salad! haha.

  • That is awesome! My 5yr old son had peas and green beans (both from a can) and fresh cucumber for dinner. He loves veggies, just like his mama!

  • My kids love veggies and salads, and always have. Of course, they also like their share of junk food, too - they're teens after all... :-)

A few yrs ago we were out and about and we had one of their friends with us. We stopped at Subway for lunch. Now, my family, we put pretty much all the veggies on ours. But the friend that was with us just got meatballs and cheese and sauce - no veggies (he might have got light lettuce, I can't remember exactly.) My dd looked at it and was like "what a sad little sandwich!" (they were 8th and 9th grade). He got embarrassed, she got flustered, but he started trying more veggies after that (and liking them) - which his parents appreciated lol!

LOL - for yrs after that, "what a sad little ___ (insert food here)" was the running joke between our families. lol

  • My 15-month-old eats anything I put in front of her, and will beg for anything she sees anyone else eating.

My 3-year-old has gotten pickier the older he gets, though I still offer him a variety of foods and don't make special arrangements for him, so hopefully he'll grow back out of it. But he does beg to brush his teeth, wash his hands, and take baths, and will scream and throw a fit if I don't let him or if I make him stop before he's ready to.

  • Awesome! My kiddos (all 7 of them) love salads, veggies & fruit. They would rather have fruit than dessert most of the time! =)
