- They are just a fact of life, and most go away on their own. I never knew I had them until my first US, and the Dr was very surprised that I didn't know. That did explain all of my years with menstrual problems, though! They will pull and stretch and hurt as the baby gets bigger, so just be prepared. And they will monitor them with every US (I had to have one every month for 5 months, but I was also a high-risk, AMA pregnancy) to make sure it isn't hindering the pregnancy.
