On the subject of prices...Why!! Is dental work so outrageously expensive???

  • Root canals ...and gosh... by the time you pay for both its over a thousand dollars for one measly tooth...insane.

  • same reason I gave on the baby stuff question... you NEED the work done, so they will rape us on pricing
    we don't have much of a choice but to get it done or suffer so...

  • Well...then if they know you have insurance they can charge more...and for people that don't they should be fair and charge less.

    But I know that I have probably put one of my oral surgeons children through college.. Hell at the rate I'm going, I'll be paying for their wedding to.

  • MANY doctor's offices will let you pay a reduced "out of pocket" fee if you ask. Much of the cost billed to insurance companies is because the costs are reduced significantly from what is billed, and it requires billing staff on both ends to process all of the paperwork.
