Apartment or trailer

what would you do buy a trailer for a thousand dollars and only have to pay electric and own the trailer or rent an apartment for five hundred a month and 56 dollars for electric?

  • Do whatever is better for you- If you get along well enough with your EX & the trailer isnt a dump. Then Id go for cheaper bc who cant use some extra $$?

  • I'd go for the trailer. It's more up front, but after two months, you're saving money every month and can put that towards a down payment on a house, or towards retirement, whatever you want. Trailers aren't as bad as they used to be, and some of them are actually quite nice. :-)
Besides, in an apartment, you share your walls with the neighbors. One night of really good sex and you'll get evil looks from your neighbors for weeks!

  • There are many more factors involved with making a decision like that. So far the trailer sounds cheaper but not knowing much, if anything about them, would there be the same amount of space? Which is in a better area? Which is closer to work places? School? Will you have to pay for heat in the trailer? How much is that? I have heard people needing to pay for heat and gas in trailers. In the end, after tallying all expenses though, I'd have to go with the safer and cheaper one.

  • trailer..its easier to live when you dont have a monthly payment.. thats what we did and we have never regretted it..and we've been here 5 years and love it..wouldnt change it for the world.. plus since we arent paying that monthly anymore thats money we could put up toward building a home in a few years!

  • It sounds like the trailer is cheaper and better but the only concern is how well do you get along with your ex?
