How long can you freeze a ham bone for soup?

I have a frozen ham bone I want to make bean soup out of. It has been in the freeze for 3 1/2 months. Thanks

  • It's still fine. So long as it's not freezer burnt. Most things will stay good for a long time, over 6 months, if it's frozen correctly. Go ahead and make your soup.
And, please, send some my way? :-)

  • I had one in my freezer for 18 months, used it last winter, and it was good. It all depends if you have it wrapped well or not.

  • I thought at least a year, and if 4time-mom had hers for 18 months, even better!
