Recalled Cribs

So I'm just getting around to returning my recalled crib, I know I know, & was wondering how many of you decided to return it or keep it. If you had/have a recalled crib did you return it or decide it wasn't that big of a deal & just kept it?

  • Our pack and play was recalled which is what we used for a crib.
We kept ours and our planning on using it again for this baby.
The only reason it was recalled was because of the bassinet attachment could rock like a swing almost and parents wouldn't lock it and it would flip. It was the eddie bauer one like this http://thehorches.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/pack_play2.jpg

  • Ours is recalled and its because the bottom falls out. The company refuses to accept returns and give refunds they are just sending out the repair kit. It makes me sick that so many baby cribs are recalled. My daughters was recalled and so was my sons and both are different brands and bought at different times. Its because of the damn drop down rail. The news said starting next summer drop down rail cribs will be band. It's about damn time. Over 100 baby deaths later.....

  • We kept ours, but we sent off for the repair kit. Basically, the repair kit just turned it from a drop-side crib to a non-drop.

They've also decided to just go ahead and ban any more production of drop-side cribs because most of these recalls have been drop-side. http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/07/14/crib.standards/index.html
