  • enough til they're full...babies know when they've had enough and every baby is different. let the child let you know how much it needs

  • there is a such thing as overfeeding. Most doctors say not over 24 ounces in a 24 hour period. Yes they go through growth spurts but many say anything over 30 ounces even during a growth spurt is too much. I have always gone with as long as they aren't eating then throwing up a lot of it then it is ok. Spit up is different than throwing up too. When a baby overeats they tend to expel what is too much. So just watch for what your baby needs and their queues for feedings. Formula fed babies don't necessarily need a set eating schedule either. I have always fed mine on demand instead of on a schedule.

  • Yes, you can overfeed a formula baby. It is very different from breastfeeding. A baby can't regulate intake from a bottle and may suck down 8 oz and they only need 4 oz. You end up with an overweight baby that can have lifelong health and weight problems.

  • no you can not over feed a baby formula anymore then you can BB! i would say about 4-5 is average. some more some less

  • my little guy take in 5 to 6 oz every 2 1/2 to 3 hours and my peds dr said that was fine.
