Do you make your own mashed potatoes or do you use fake ones?

Most of the time I make my own because there is nothing like "good old homemade mashed potatoes". But sometimes when we're short or time or just being "lazy" we'll use the fake ones.

  • I prefer the real ones, but we usually use the instant. :-( Just as well, they keep longer than actual potatoes do.

  • I always make them homemade. We use the box of instant ones for like potato soup for a thickner.

  • I have to make my own. I only had instant once, and they were so gross! lol. I love mashed potatoes too, so I don't mind make them.

  • It depends on what we are having and how much time I have to cook. Being a mom who works full time doesn't always leave me as much time to cook as I like.

  • I am the same way. I will only eat homemade but when I'm in a hurry, the hubby and kids dont mind so I'll make the fake just for them.

  • I make them myself, I don't like the dehydrated flakes.
