baby boy ears pierced?

my husband has his ears pierced and my son will be 12 mths next week. So he wants to go get our son ears pierced also. I don't really agree with that but we are now in an arguement over it b/c he says he never has a say so ova our child. What do u think? should we wait to let him make that decision for himself when he's older? i mean its only a fashion thing for guys idk wht the big deal is with my husband.

  • I would wait until he can decide for himself....IMO even little girls should wait til they can choose as well.....

  • I wouldn't do that to my sons.... I would leave it up to him as he got older if he wanted it or not...but thats me.

  • Wait....almost every girl wants her ears pierced so that is different but a lot of boys don't. My S/O would NEVER want his pierced.

  • No way. I also wouldn't do it for a girl. It should be his/her decision when old enough. It's THEIR body, why do you get to decide? No......

  • I would have pierced my sons ears when he was an infant- if he was a girl!
Boys- when I see little boys with their ears pierced I think WHITE TRASH or Ghetto....

  • Perhaps your husband has tattoos, would he want to go ahead and get your son one, too? Nope, his body, his choice.

  • I would throw his logic back in his face. How does he think the baby feels being subjected to unnecessary pain without a say in the matter? Getting ears pierced isn't exactly pleasant, but we do it for vanity. A baby boy is too young to understand vanity, and definitely probably wouldn't want to have mommy and daddy intentionally hurt him. I would find something else to boost dad's ego by letting him decided other than something ridiculous liked piercing an infant BOY's ears. It's not hypocritical, but it is true. It is different if the baby is a girl.

  • My ex sister in law had her baby boys ears pierced..and to just didnt look right at all.
I understand where your husband is coming from in wanting some say so about it...but know..tell him to pick something else if its somethign you really dont want to do.
Maybe he can buy him a nice chain or bracelet or something...or maybe even let him do a mohawk thing when he gets enough hair, lol.
Good Luck with that one! :)
