When is a good time to talk about child care? Or who's already got a plan?

I'm 23 weeks with our first and I was just curious when people start interviewing people or exploring options for childcare if they are going to need it

  • I would do it now, the sooner the better!

  • Will you be going back to work right after the baby turns 6 weeks old? If so, then I would start now. If you plan on taking a 3-4 months off then you could probably wait until after the baby is born.

  • You should consider your options at least a month before your due date.

  • Start now. The best daycares will probably have waiting lists for infants. With my second child, I got on the waiting list when I was 12 weeks pregnant. We still only got the daycare spot when he was 8 weeks old because we already had a child in the same daycare center, so we got preference.

  • I am also 23 weeks and I went in to Academy for Kids today to find out about childcare. They have a wait list so if you are wanting to use a daycare like them then I would def. look into it soon!!
