This may be a stupid question, seeing as they are "non toxic" but will taking a bite out of sidwalk chalk hurt my little one?

She's two and took a small bite out of some crayola sidewalk chalk

  • A tiny little bite wouldn't hurt her. Now, if she chomped down on the whole thing, maybe, but a small bite from a two year old tiny mouth, she'll be fine!
They'll eat some weird stuff, huh?

  • Ok, :cringe:, lol...Just imagining my teeth rubbing in chalk makes me shudder, lol. I think she'll be fine, btt if you're concerned, ask her doctor. I'm sure, believe it or not, that she's not the first to do it, lol.

  • LOL NO! Its non-toxic and there is actually a girl who eats it daily because she craves it and loves the texture. She told the doctors "Honestly, if its not hurting my health I wont stop." The doctor said its just a strange thing but it wont hurt her lol!

  • But the doctors did advise her to stop drinking laundry detergent for health risks...

  • She'll be fine, sad to say but my son eats chalk all the time lol. but i have also heard that if they eat chalk, sand, pieces of brick, other stuff like that. They are lacking something in thier diet.

  • Nope, not at all. I'd just say "no no, yucky" then take them away till another day. i had to do this with my son (play-doh and watercolor paints) until he stopped tasting them!

  • She'll be fine. The only danger would be if she continued to eat them.
