Question for single moms...how much money do you need to survive?

I'm talking about enough to pay your rent/mortgage, utilities, groceries, car payment, insurance...etc... This does not include "fun money"...just necessities. And this question is geared more towards single moms.

  • I make $9.00 an hour. And get no child support. I do just fine. I "could" do with a little less, but, I am comfortable and not feeling overwhelmed with $9.00/hour.

  • I'm not a single mom but did the math once just for kicks lol. On my own I'd need at the very very least $24,500 a year so about $2,041 a month.

  • Yeah it has a lot to do with this expensive ass city! Rent alone for a semi-decent 2br. here is $1000/month which is why. It's ridiculous. If we lived elsewhere I could do with a lot less no doubt.

  • I am buying a nice trailer. It was $8000.00 and I pay $200.00 a month. Will be paid off in January. It has taken 3 years.
