  • well is he showing signs of being ready to potty train?

if not then don't do it it will only set him back in potty training.

  • I think its too early for him to understand, but its never to early to introduce it. The sooner you show him what its about the sooner he'll catch on. Good Luck tho.

  • There is know harm in trying to potty train your son at a young age. Most young moms on here will say to not even try tell 3 years old. but if you want to start now, it is not a bad thing.

  • Way too early. Unless he is showing signs...which I doubt it.

  • dont potty train for your convenience! if your son isnt ready it will only cause stress and confusion. you can slowly start teaching him the basics (show him was the toilet is, how you sit on it to go pee pee....), but dont expect him to get it in 3 days or even 3 weeks at this age. Potty training isnt a good way to save money, yes diapers are expensive, but he won't be in them forever!

  • signs are telling you when he's poopy, taking off his diaper when he has already went, sometimes even wanting to sit on the potty. most kids aren't ready until about 2yrs old, but it is possible. at that age though, they won't be able to tell you before hand, you actually just watch their signs and put them on the potty when squirming or showing a certain sign that they have to go. that's what they did the old days, when they trained before one. they weren't technically trained, more moms were home than work so they knew the signs. even when they're ready, it takes a long time to get them fully potty trained.

try cutting out on other things if you can, cuz he'll be in diapers or pull ups for a while. i've been working with my son for a year on potty training, started at 2 1/2, and he's just now almost done. that, and boys are alot harder than girls when it comes to potty training. GL
