How do I get my 4 month eating rice cereal?

My 4 month is formula fed. Im trying to get him started on solids and I am starting on rice cereal. I give it to him twice a day but he tries to suck on the spoon and cries when he realizes its not his bottle.. how do I stop this?

  • u could just wait a bit onger and try again another time.

theyre used to sucking its their reflex when something is put to their mouth.

try different foods. that cereal stuff isnt all that great for them...

  • feed him a couple of tsp's before his bottle, but not when he's SUPER hungry. he wont take very much food at this point his belly is tiny.

  • dont put it in his bottle.... choking risk, BIG TIME... ugh.. but if he wont feed with it by a spoon there is NO need for him to have it at 4 months anyways, just try by the spoon, wont take to it, wait a week try again if still not then, wait a month or two, in reality don't need cereal anyways

  • I use to mix it with a little baby apple sauce or banana's.. just a little to add flavor.

Doc said it was ok. It's not the best tasting .. The doc said to that adding a little sugar was ok. Up to you.
