  • Does he have regular Dr. checkups? Is all OK there? My friend's baby, 7 months old, can not sit by himself yet , but can pull himself into a standing position. They are all different.

  • I think he's probably fine, but I'd always address anything with his doctor. My son starting sitting unassisted at about 6 1/2 months, didn't crawl until 9 months, and once he got it, he was all over the place!

  • All babies are different and as long as the pediatrician finds there is nothing wrong with the development I would not worry. Kids do things in thier own time.

  • My son was the same way. At 7 months he'd sit for half a second before he started to lean or took off crawling somewhere. By 8-9 months he was sitting and crawling with ease. Give it another month or 2 then if you're still concerned ask the Dr.

  • I know a 9 month old who cannot roll over either way, sit up, or crawl. My daughter on the other hand was sitting up I think around 6 months. I think all kids develop at their own pace.

  • That's normal. My daughter didn't start sitting up for long periods of time unassisted until she was eight months. It's good that he's going after toys and that's most likely why he doesn't stay upright. And it's good he's military crawling. Sounds like he's just fine.
