Does anyone know if PCOS is hereditary? When I google it I get conflicting answers.

  • All I can tell you is what my Dr's told me. I have severe PCOS. All but one Dr. said there is no evidence in research that proves it is genetically linked. That is what it would take to be hereidary. None of my sisters, aunts or cousins have it.

  • I heard the same thing. I also have insulin resistance as well as the PCOS and most of the women in my family have issues with blood sugar. Then again, they may change it before too long. I think they've been doing more research on it in the past 5 or so years.
