Help me decide: New carpet or wood flooring?

I really like how wood looks, but I like how carpet feels and how it is quieter. Which do you like best?

  • Hmmm, there is pros and cons... how good of shape are your hardwoods in?

We have hardwoods throughout the foyer, living room/dining room, and office and carpet in the bedrooms, I like that combo :)

  • Wood flooring. I hate carpeting, especially with pets. My allergies act up more with carpeting than wood floors.

  • I have wall to wall now with two dogs and a 4 1/2 yr old. I wish I had the money for hardwoods. I think that they are so much cleaner and if you have allergies they would probably help with that.

  • I am very anti carpet. Hardwood or tire throughout the house. I have large rugs in the main area of the living room and in the kids bedrooms. The cleanliness of hardwood with the softness of carpet where you need it. Best of both worlds
