  • fire extinguisher
    extension cords-multiple sizes
ladder (buy fiberglass, it doesn't conduct electricity and it is lighter...more expensive, but the only one you will have to buy.)
    fire and carbon monoxide detector

That should get you started. If you wanted something specific like "What do i need to install..." then I could answer more in detail. :)

  • A house doesn't become a home overnight. Is this your first home? The barest essentials are: dishes, silverware, pots/pans, bakeware, staple food items, coffee maker, juicer/mixmaster, microwave, oven, refrigerator, dining room set, living room set, bedroom set, kid's bedroom set, garbage cans, hampers, mop, sponge mop, broom, dustpan, bucket, curtains, draperies, window shades and hardware, vacuum (if carpeted), hammer, screw driver, socket wrenches, nails, screws, shower curtains, hangers, plunger, oven mitts, dish/dry cloths, towels, face cloths, linen, pillows, personal hygiene items, iron, ironing board, tv, dvd player, stereo/radio, computer, first aid kit, fire extinguishers, flashlights, emergency candles, storage containers, etc. Did I miss anything?
