  • he watched one hour a day prerecorded television with the commercials removed

  • We don't. Not often at least. When visiting his grandparents' home, unfortunately, they use the television as background entertainment. Thankfully he spends only a week or two during the summers with them. Other than that we try very much to stay away from it. My husband does use the portable DVD while cooking dinner to entertain my three year old. Because my son rarely gets any, he will sit and be zoned out while my husband can finish up on the stove. My son helps "cook" as much as he can but dealing with the stove and oven not age appropriate. So when it comes to that my son goes to the table and the DVD player is put on with some movie we know is appropriate. He watches only long enough for my husband to complete a meal. If I am home then the DVD player is not on.

  • the tv is off most of the time in our home...probably less than 2 hrs. my kids are older...and really like the japanese/anime cartoons.

  • My kids will probably watch tv about 2 hours a day if that. We do not allow the tv to be on while eating or while doing things as a family.

  • Never. I rarely even turn the tv on while she's awake and even if I do...she doesn't pay any attention to it.

  • It's always on in the background, but he doesn't watch it consistantly.

  • My kids have not watched any tv for the last 5 1/2 days. It was difficult to find things to keep them occupied, but we did it. However, they did get to watch some Disney this morning. They did well with out it, and I let them have it as a treat. I will say, my kids got along a lot better over the past few days than they have over the past 3 years. I like it.
