bowel issues~~~TMI warning. adult content

ok, as embarrassing as this is to be asking about, i am getting seriously frustrated. I have always had constipation issues. that is not new. Generally, if i am drinking a lot of water and working out, it helps and i can go to the bathroom at least every other day. I recently started working out again because i had put on a little weight and i am ridiculously backed up! it has been WEEKS since i have had a decent BM without using an enema. if i do go, its like 2 or 3 tiny little pellets. like marble sized pellets. (sorry for the TMI) i will let that go for a few days, trying to have a decent one. but by the 4th day i feel like crap and here comes the enema again. Then when i use the enema, i literally lose 2 pounds! its ridiculous! Im drinking tons of water, green tea, eating a very high fiber diet, and taking stool softeners each day. what gives? its definitely frustrating my weight loss.

  • I say take a stool softener daily.. I think you can take up to 2 a day see the bottle. That is way better then anything I would think.

    I would also ask your doctor. Something doesn't sound right .... It's better to be save then sorry.

  • There could be something more serious going on. I would see a specialist.  Until you get an appointment try senekot it's a natural lavative.  You just take a couple of pills at night.

  • Go see a gastroenterologist. Chronic constipation can be serious.

  • Take a probiotic daily. Make sure to read the label & get one that guarentees live bacteria. Align GI & Sustenex are good ones.

  • I would try Swiss Kriss... It's a natural laxative.
    Are you *sure* you're getting 25 grams of fibre a day?
    I thought I was eating high fibre and was only getting about 15-17 grams a day.

    I usually take a few psyllium seed husks tablets a day.
    I started taking a new kind of fibre (konjac something or other) and I am really regular when I remember to take it.

  • Try cutting back on the fiber a bit.   Fiber bulks out your stools and that could what is causing your constipation.

  • Try Juice Plus. It's just fruits and veggies in a capsule. I ordered it for a family member having bowel issues and they noticed an improvement in a few weeks. I actually got such good results myself for my health issues I became a rep. This stuff works.
