  • I know most Americans do not care about our children who have special needs. Our children depend on funding for programs for therapy and medical care. It is important to have a president who will care and take action to make our children's lives better. Obama has a better record than McCain and Obama's plan is better.

  • McCain's record is so poor. Obama is doing something and writing legislation that will help Children with Special Needs, Disabled Veterans, and all persons who are disabled. This goes to a person's character especially when he claims to be a friend to veterans? How is this possible, when he is not helping them?

  • I understand your point, but at the same time do you understand that many of these bills contain pork belly spending attached to them. Perhaps McCain voted against them not because of their main goal, but because of a side effect of them. I feel like I am missing some context with these bills. In a lot of cases there is a little side note in these bills that say "and 20% of this funding will go to ______", (just putting it simply, obviously this isn't the wording they use) which is not necessarily where the money was initially intended. I know all of those bills look like a lot of government spending, which is fine if the money is being spent well, but not if its being wasted.

  •  Go here and get the REAL facts!!!   Palin cut special needs programs in her state by over 67%. Then she had a special needs baby. Hmmmm  makes ya wonder if God didnt do it to her on purpose.

  • vbruno ,
Perhaps you should take your own advice. She did NOT cut special needs funding. She increased it!
And as for your comment about her special needs child, that was rude and uncalled for. Children, any children, are not a punishment! And of course God did it "on purpose". ALL His gifts are on purpose.

  • To answer the OP's question, we need to read the entire bill(s), not just the title to know what was in it. There can be so many pork barrel projects added to it that the orginal intent of the bill is lost.
