Do you know much about dragonflies?

Yesterday we all of a sudden had 3 flying around my pool all day and it has peeked my curiousity to learn more about them so far all I have found on the web is their life cycle what I was wondering is why they were out yesterday but I hadnt seen them much all yr and they are gone today I find it interesting certainly someone knows

  • They do stay near water where they lay the eggs once that task is accompished they are near death. Their lifespans are very short. That's about the extent of my knowledge.

  • We usually only see them in our yard during the hottest parts of the year and we see them because we live really close to sources of water - a huge river.

  • well I wonder if the nymphs all come out on the same day to form into the dragon fly
