hand sanitizer and kids yay or nay

we got my oldest DD a small pocket anti bac from bath n body works. she uses it several times a day and when we go out in public. im stocking up on them for when she goes to school and put them in her back pack.
yay or nay?

  • As long as she can keep her hands out of her mouth, sure. Those contain chemicals and alcohol.

  • I keep some in my purse all the time just in case there isn't a good sink with soap around. I think it's really convenient and useful! Sure, if a kid chugs a big bottle it's bad for them, but a tiny dot on their palm isn't going to cause damage IMO.

  • I am all for it but I have one on me at all times as well. As long as you know that she can use it correctly just meaning not drinking it, or getting in her eyes then I am all for it.

  • Oh I think kids get a wee drunk off the stuff~the hospitals seemed to have switched to a non alcohol based one now~but before a blood draw of IV stick...hand gel them up and sure enough kids chilled just a wee bit~

    Don't use it on tiny kids~i think they do absorb some of the alcohol~

  • Nay here as we try to limit their exposure to chemicals and feel that proper hand washing is better.
