I've heard your not suppose to lay on your back and right side while pregnant why is this???

  • when you are in later pregnancy, baby is much bigger and can compress the main artery/vein & nerves when you lay on your back or right side, but not while you are on your left side.

  • Yes, something about cutting off the main vein, but- I would start the night out on my left side but, by morning be on my right side... so who knows!

  • Yes it has to do with your nerves...but i too fall asleep on my left side and wake up on my right all the time.

  • Yeah & i feel so comfortable on my right. I would guess its just for the really big mamas that are 6-9 months. :)

  • iv also bn told when u lay on ur left the baby gets more nutrients....i try to lay on my left side but i toss n turn all night from either side back n sure ur body will kno what to do n not to do while asleep so i wouldnt worry much unless ur very far along, then i bn told to use a body pillow to cuddle wit!
