Grammar question.....

If you posted....going to hear my babies heartbeat today....

Is it suppose to be baby's heartbeat....right...

But wouldnt the singular heartbeat....with no S sort of be a clue that you meant ONE baby...

Simple mistake right....

  • Babies is plural, so more than one baby. Baby's is possessive so the noun heartbeat belongs to the baby.
    There are two babies in that stroller.
    I can hear my baby's heartbeat.

  • plural possessive - babies'
    singular possessive - baby's

    if you are having multiples, you'd say "I'm going to hear my babies' heart beat"
