is it okay to give my baby mussels????

my daughter is 20 months old..and my husband is letting her eat this ok? some sites i found say its okay and others say she shouldnt have it until she is three???any answers?

  • The AAP says that there is no need to hold off on what used to be considered "allergenic" foods, including shellfish. As long as you aren't noticing any signs of an allergy, it's fine.

  • Any shell food can be highly allergenic..thats why they say to wait until older...severe reactions can occur.
