Can low-income citizens really get free cell phones?

What's that all about? How does it work?

  • I have never heard of this. We use TracFone. We pay about $10 per month per phone, and we mainly keep them with us in case our kids' school needs to contact us or we have car trouble.

  • Yeah they can. Here in KY, so long as you meet income requirements and haven't been convicted of a felony, you can get one from the same people who do FS. My brother had one until they found out about his felonies. Then he lost it. It works like prepaid with a certain amount of minutes and texts per month.
