  • My daughter had it. She had to go in for blood work twice and the levels came down on their own without any intervention.

I took her out in the sun and breastfed a BUNCH and she got rid of it on her own within a week or so.

  • A few days. My milk had not come in yet, so I supplimented with formula to help "flush out" the bilirubin per the doctor. Sunlight helps also!

  • it's pretty common.. my DD had it, and by the time we left the hospital it was gone (when she was born)

  • My daughter had it. She had a very mild case though. She was in the hospital for 3 days. But we had to go back to the hospital a few days later to get her blood checked (bilirubin or whatever it's called).

  • My son was just jaundice on his face and chest. It lasted about a week, because we kept him in the sunlight a little bit every day.

  • my first son was born at home 6 1/2 years ago. he was a little jaundice. he was born in november and we have pictures of him laying in the sunlight in his room. i had another son that was worse. he was so lathargic he wouldn't even cry if he was poopy or hungry. there was no sunshine to be found. i breastfed whenever he would suck. it took him a week or two, i think. i was really nervous and thought we should take him to the hospital ( he was born at home). dh thought all along he should stay home. just curious, do you think it i best to sit your baby under the hospital lights or blankets. or do you think breast milk and sunlight is best?
