  • Give him as much as he wants. I answered this question for someone else. Pay attention to the poop and pee not the intake of food. He will not eat more than his little tummy will hold. If he does not poop and pee as much as you think he should then you need to talk to your doc. Otherwise, think of him as yourself eating. Would you want someone to tell you when you are full? lol

  • This should help a little. I obtained this from my pediatrician or lactation specialists, breastfeeding or bottle feeding. this chart is primarly helpful for milk intake.

    In a 24 hour time period baby's should intake=

    0-4 months = 5-10feedings = 17-32oz=24 (hours)
    4-6 months = 4-6 feedings = 26-32oz=24(*introducing rice cereal)
    6-8 months = 3-5 feedings = 21-32oz =24hr(*including cereal and introducing some fruits & vegitables)
8-10months = 3-4 feeding = 21-32oz =24 hours(introducing dry cereals and other fruits and vegtables and adding priotein foods)
10-12months=3-4Xby cup or bottle = 21-29oz (*including baby foods + adding juices & some adult foods.)

*means ask pediatrician on introducing other foods such as cereal, baby foods like vegtables & fruits, etc. and the recommended amounts because I know that baby's need the vitamins and DHA and ARA's to get proper nutrition and these things are all in breastmi

  • My 3 month old recently started taking 7-8 ounces, and he wants to eat about every 4 hours. (With the exception of overnight, because he sleeps through now.) I let him eat until he's full. He shows signs- He pokes out his bottom lip when he's done. I'm sure you know your baby's full signal, so let him eat until he gives you the sign.

  • I was told 2.5 oz per pound per day. Not a really good answer to per feedind but just take your baby's weight times it by 2.5 and then divide that by the amount of times your baby eats.
