why is my 8 month old LO suddenly sleeping poorly when I'm away.

Daddy can't even get him to sleep without me being there to calm him down. When trying to calm him down, he seems to do a thing I call climbing. he tries to climb my torso, gripping for dear life.

  • Developmentally he's right on track. He's going thru a seperation anxiety phase & is developing his muscles for walking hence the climbing. My dd did the same thing, now she's 15 mo & kicks me instead of climbing! Can't wait till she starts hitting or sleep walking or doing kung fu in her sleep! Have daddy stay in the room/bed w/ you while you're calming your ds down. Have daddy rub his back & talk gently to him. By encorporating daddy into this it shows ds that it doesn't have to be one or the other & eventually he'll let daddy calm him more.
