  • Ear piercings, any age where the child can't ask for and take care of them I think is too young.
Other piercings (tongue, eyebrow, belly button, so on), I think anything under 17 is a little young. But, like most things, some will be alright with it younger and some won't be able to take care of it at 17.
Tattoos that have meaning, like a memorial tattoo for someone close to you who has died, is something that's not likely to be regretted. It would be fine at around 15 or 16. Anything else, like the band of the week, I would say wait until 18 when it's out of my hands.

  • Piercings, when they can't ask for them themselves.
Tattoos, before age 18 (or 21, i have seen places that say 21 or older) when they can walk into a place and pay for it on their own.

  • I say ear peircings for girls when they are old enough to ask for them, I was 5. For boys not until 16 or so...I know it's a double standard but I think young boys just shouldn't have them. Tats and body peircings are illegal in Cali until you are 18. Past that i'll go with them for carefully placed tattoos (I don't think it's wise to have very visible ones before you have a career). I don't like facial peircings period (just me, not saying they're bad for everyone) so i would try to talk my kids out of them but past 18 there's not a whole lot I can do anyway.

  • I didn't mean I'll go with them for approval past 18. Just to share in getting their first one...we're tattoo people lol.
