  • Well in the bible they are always depicted as white folks.. So I was wondering what most thought?

  • I would assume black since it's been assumed that they were in Africa or a similar placement... But they could have been closer middle eastern skin tones.

    This is assuming they existed at all! Personally, I'm a fan of evolution, there were many Adam & Eve's of all colors.

  • I agree with Sabrina's first sentence. Mitochondrial DNA has been traced back to one woman that scientists believe was the first woman. Obviously there also had to be a first man. They have determined from DNA testing that the first two people were from Africa. I think it is likely that they had dark skin. They are depicted as white in the art because that is the way the artists portrayed them. Christian art is not meant to be taken literally. For example, I've seen portraits of the Virgin Mary as light skinned, dark-skinned, and Hispanic. Sometimes you see several events in the same painting that did not take place all at once.
