What is a male midwife?

What do they call male midwives? This is a serious question.
I was just thinking on how my neighbor was a midwife and her son followed in her foot steps and went to the same school and study the same thing. Do they just call them midwives?

  • They're also called Midwives. The word "midwife" means ''with women'' so that is why both female and male are called midwives. :o)

Midwife means "with woman." He's still a midwife because he assists women.
