  • I'm a nurse in a preschool/daycare with 9 sites, 1000 kids in our city.
Once a month there is a "Visit with me" activity for parent/ child.
Each classroom is expected to have a lesson plan for a week with a theme.
Due to the budget outings have cut way down, but usually there is one field trip/year.

The kids come in, have breakfast, play, have circle time, go outside or in the gym, cool down with a story, have lunch, brush teeth, have a nap and then play until pick up time.

Today, one classsroom had a tent and they were playing "camping". Another classroom had a "veterinarian clinic" set up for the sick stuffed animals and one classroom was talking about butterflies.

  • they have a regular daily routine that include music class around 9am...then they have snack...then they do academic and crafty activities...then lunch at noon...then nap from 1-3...then they have playtime until pick up. (this is the basic schedule for the 2 year olds and up) they also do special activities about 2x month...this includes station/center day...walk to the fire station...hop-a-thon...ride in a wheel chair day...puddle jumping day...snow play in the winter once a week and wading pool day once a week in the summer. we absolutely love our daycare/preschool

  • The days start with free play, then each day there is a scheduled special: music, movement, yoga, library, science lab, followed by snack time, followed by guided activity (usually a group project) then playground time, then lunch and nap. I'm not sure what they do from 2:00 on, since my daughter's only in half day.

  • My DCP has a regular daily routine that includes circle time, story time, music time, sensory play, free play, outdoor time, art, and learning about the topic of the week, letters, and numbers. They go on outings once or twice a month, have Kidsbop come on Thursdays, and take swimming lessons on Fridays.
