  • in order for a child to have cf both parents must carry the gene, and if both do there is a 1 in 4 chance that the baby will have cf, and a 1 in 4 chance that the baby will be a carrier, i just went thru the nightmare of wondering for 8 long months but got the test results back last week.

  • My friend just had a baby and that happened to them. The doctors told them it was because only one of the parents had the gene. I guess both of the parents have to carry it for the baby to actually have it.
