What does the "D" stand for in DS and DD? I get the s and d. (son and daughter)

I am very new to this site and don't really get too much time on here as my daughter is very young and very needy. I just have some questions about this site. = ) Thank you.

  • Is it a must to use that terminology or it's just something that everyone does? Can you not post your child's names? Sorry for all the questions. I am just curious. = )

  • Posting your child's name is totally up to you and how much you want to disclosed about yourself and your family. Personally I never post my children's names. I always refer to them as DD or DS on CM (cafemom). On my blog and other social sites were I know the ladies better I refer to them as WP(web-princess) and SS (Superstar).

  • No, you don't have to use the terminology if you don't want to. No everyone does. It's totally up to you and your comfort level.
