  • doesn't sound like he's ready yet, its good he knows when he's wet or poopy....19 months is still fairly young for potty training...
most parents dont even attempt until they child is 2 or 2 1/2 years of age.

  • wait until is fully ready to use the potty - knowing before he goes, the ability to tell you he needs to go, the ability to actually get on and off the potty.

But if you really want to do it this way, get him some potty time books, just books that he gets to look at in the bathroom.

  • He's not ready yet. Back off and wait til his gives you more concrete clues.

  • 19 months is really, really young for a boy. They know they don't like the feeling of being soiled but they often times don't have the needed muscle control yet. Personally, I would wait until he's 2. Between now and then you can talk to him about going in the potty, being a big boy. If you really want to continue though get some underwear, set a timer every 20-30 minutes and tell him 'time to go potty'. In the meantime give him something to drink after ever single time to the potty. If he goes in the potty make a huge big deal. If not just say uh,oh and say nothing more. Be consistant. good luck
