Developmental Issues or no?

My daughter just turned 10 months old & has yet to crawl. She just started sitting up about 6wks ago. Is this normal? She was eating baby food regularly too now she barely wants too eat, is that bad or no? I hate feeling like my daughters behind. Any help/advice would help thanks!!!

  • I'm not a doctor by any means. But with my DD she sat up around 6 months give or take. However, when it came to crawling she really passed that stage up and went on to walking. She began walking around 10 months. But with your lo not eating I'd say get her checked out if at all possible. That just doesn't sound good to me, but then again maybe she is just being picky.

  • Children develop at different paces, and some children are just lazier than others, too. If you have real concerns, ask your pediatrician.

  • Pediatricians don't know much when it cmes to ur childs development. As an infant Specialist, I highly recommend u get ur child evaluated. She is showing a significant delay.

  • I think she is probably okay. That is a little late for sitting up, but it's not late for crawling. Many babies don't crawl at all. If you are truly worried, certainly get her evaluated, motherly instincts are never to be ignored.

  • Talk to your pediatrician. All kids develop at their own rate, some hit every milestone on time, others are early or late. Kids also have times where they eat less (or more) than is typical for them. These things may or may not be a symptom of some sort of delay - don't worry yourself until you speak with your doc.

  • My daughter is 10 months old and she just started to sit by herself like last week. She has been "commando crawling" for about a month now, and is pulling herself to a stand on just about everything. She however was enrolled in the o-3 / birth to 3 program for developmental delays a couple months ago due to her not sitting or crawling, she also wasn't rolling over at 7 months. But it was like someone turned on a light switch once she was enrolled and she has caught up to her peers! They are so impressed with how far she has came already. I would get her evaluated. Every child is different, but their is nothing wrong with a child who is a little bit behind, it is better to get them help sooner than later!! Good luck! =-)
