So, I'm fixing my resume because im going to be applying at some restaraunts tomorrow...

the previous place i applied was for a call center so it was based upon a position to meet those expectations. Now im going to be applying as a server, and yes a resume is not needed but id like to have on just in case.

i'm on the part of the resume where i have to describe my duties .... i worked at village in for 5 years serving.

i know what to put but i am horrible at picking words that sound good and not repetitive.

can i get some help? LOL

(I'd like to add, yes, I know how to spell and how to use my grammar when writing a sentence. This is just the internet, and on my resume it will be professional and correct.)

  • If you're asking what to put where your duties are you can say something like:

Food service duties such as taking orders, making orders, serving orders, cleaning up, delivering orders to homes and businesses, using touch screen computers, using a cash register.

(Of course not exactly that, but something similar maybe??)

  • Find out synonyms online for words you think you are using too often. And mention if you were given any other responsibilities like being in charge if the owner had to leave the building, being head server if they had that system, made mixed drinks often, etc. Be honest, but don't overlook small things that showed you were responsible. Good luck!

-Have excellent customer service and communication skills
-Serve the correct party within 30 minutes of entering the order

-Complete, garnish and wrap up the appearance of entrees
-Efficiently tray correct platters to ensure they reach the proper table
-Handle multiple ticket orders at one time
