Just a thought/question that ran through my head.

Do you think home school kids should still go school clothes shopping? Yes I know every kids deserves new clothes. I was just wondering what the point in school clothes shopping if you home school.

  • Maybe they don't need "school" clothes, but all kids need clothes, and it is a good time to take advantage of all the sales.

  • What's the point, you ask? Maybe their moms want to shop at the sales. Maybe the kid(s) need clothes, just like every other kid. Just because they're home schooled doesn't mean they run around in their pj's, underwear, or nothing at all. ;-)

I don't think a home schooled child OR a public/private schooled child really NEEDS to go school clothes shopping all at once. It's all a marketing ploy. Really...MOST of those sales are repeated cyclically through the season. Jeans come on sale once a month or so, as do shirts, sweaters, socks, underwear, and shoes.

I don't bother with school clothes shopping unless the sales are good, and in reality there are better sales throughout the year. I'm not going to buy my home schooled GROWING children a new wardrobe every August and then have them grow out of the clothes within 6 months. We buy things as they need them, spreading the cost out through the year.

  • I would still buy them clothes but not as often. kids whom go to school probly go through clothes alot faster than those who stay home. i always thought most home schooled kids wore there pj's for the most part of the day
