Do you think this would be headline news if it were a Bible burning??

Fla. church plans to burn Qurans on 9/11 anniversary...

I'm honestly not to surprised that this is not even being reported by most sources... But I really, honestly believe if this were a Mosque or a Coven hosting a Bible Burning it would be the top story on every channel...

What's up with the double standard here? Why isn't this bigger news? Is it because people see it as okay, or simply because they don't care?

What do you think?

  • Just as a side note - I DID pass this on to a local reporter, we'll see if it actually makes the cut or not...

  • Bush set up 9/11? huh...could have sworn it was al qaeda...
And the burning of ANY religious text is wrong, regardless of which religion it belongs to. This should be reported and the people doing it should be ashamed of themselves.

  • Like burning a Qu'ran will make what happened on that day go away. Stupid and childish...

The Dove World Outreach Church in Gainesville, Florida. They're the ones who, about a year ago, sent their darlings to school with shirts that read "Islam is of the Devil," and then pitched a fit when the kids got sent home. Now, clearly demonstrating how tolerant they've grown, they're hosting an "International Burn A Quran Day," on Sept. 11.

  • Well to be honest, the people that are planning the Quaran burnings don't sound like "true" Christians. You're right, this is a double standard and it gives Christians a bad name. If there was a Bible burning, it would be looked upon as an act of terrorism. Sounds like more extreme hypocrites that call themselves Christian. I'm surprised the Westboro nutjobs haven't pulled this stunt already. I guess they're too busy protesting against gays and the military to come up with that idea.
