Coffee question

Should I just buy a coffee maker or a maker and grinder for the beans?

If I don't buy the grinder I know I can just buy it already ground, but what's better? Having fresh ground beans or pre-ground beans?

  • I like fresh ground coffee. But as you can see, there are many who are satisfied with pre-ground. I will say that once you have had fresh ground it is hard to go back!

  • i've never tasted a difference between pre ground and fresh ground. go with pre ground, it's much cheaper and just as good

  • Fresh ground beans give a stronger richer flavor. But, ground coffee is so much easier!! My hubby likes percolated coffee over drip... and we use the pre ground stuff.... unless I am making lattes, then I grind it for the espresso. Perked coffee is also richer then drip... so I guess it's all about how you like your coffee... lol

  • Fresh ground tastes better to me. I usually get the already ground stuff like Foldgers. But when I want to splurge I'll ground them myself at the store. It costs a little more but it's a nice extra sometimes :-)

  • I have a friend who used to hate coffee and when her husband bought a grinder and fresh beans...she was addicted!!
but I'm lazy I would rather open a can and scoop out the stuff

it depends on what you what...full,rich,fresh flavor...then get a grinder or simple coffee flavor ...then get a coffee can

  • I don't notice a difference. I buy ground, my mom buys whole beans and grinds them for every new pot...doesn't taste any different to me.
